lists and have been referring clients to us since 1991. Did you know that we
are used by the attending physicians from Hospital for Sick Children and other
Toronto Hospitals to care for their children?
Our care providers are meticulously screened for aptitude and professionalism. References are methodically checked. We then match their skills to the family's unique needs. Post Operative Care
When you have first had surgery, skilled pain management is key. Many families
choose to have private duty nurses to provide symptom management in the first
post operative days. Reduced mobility during this phase makes it difficult to
manage basic activities such as turning and bedpans. Your nurse will ensure
your safety and comfort and reduce exposure to hospital infections common in
the medical environment. While staff nurses must ration their time, you and
your comfort are our first and only priority -- assisting with bathing and
meals, as well as repositioning and other urgent concerns as they arise is our
only responsibility, as your private duty nurse. We match caregivers to your
situation according to the skill level required. Assignments are typically 24
hours per day for the first 72 hours following surgery then 4 to 8 hours per
day. Many patients take us home from the hospital to help during their
convalescence.

promoting optimum independence and health, with the understanding that the

accepted. It's the little things that add to quality of life at this time. We
